Sailing routes from the Doggersvaart
From our dock at the Doggersvaart you head straight onto the calm inland waters. Our favourite routes — from historic Willemsoord to Fort Westoever and the green banks of the Noordhollands Kanaal.
01 — Willemsoord
Sail via the Doggersvaart to Willemsoord, the historic naval site with restaurants, cafés and cultural venues by the water. Moorings for a lunch or sundowner. About 20 minutes one way.
02 — Fort Westoever
A quiet trip along the Noordhollands Kanaal past green banks and reeds to Fort Westoever, part of the Stelling van Den Helder. About 30 minutes — perfect as a 1.5 to 2-hour round trip.
03 — Inland waters & nature
If you want to keep things gentle: a loop through the sheltered inland waters around Den Helder. Reeds, birds, wide skies and almost no traffic. Perfect for families with children.
